The Placement Cell (Jawahar Knowledge Centre)

            PRR&VS Government College, Vidavalur has Jawahar Knowledge Centre as a platform for the placement cell of the institution. To enhance the employability skills to the students of the Government Degree Colleges and to show placements to them in the suitable companies, the Commissionerate of Collegiate Education established these Jawahar Knowledge Centres (JKCs) in all the Government Degree Colleges in the state in 2005 to implement the decision taken by the Government of Andhra Pradesh in this regard.

         As part of this project, a JKC was established even in this college. With a view to strengthening the employment skills to the students, the curriculum framed by the CCE that comprises Communication Skills in English, Soft Skills, Analytical Skills, General Awareness and Computer Skills paves path to the students to face challenges in the modern competitive world in order to get some placement for their better livelihood.

          In this connection, an effective training is given to the students and campus drives are conducted. Sometimes, the students are even guided to attend the job drives conducted in the other colleges. That’s how JKCs play pivotal role in helping the students in not only acquiring employability skills but also get a reasonably good placement in a suitable company.

              Since its inception in this institution, both the trained and guided students have been placed in different companies.

Objectives:

♦ To strengthen the employment skills to the students.

♦ To pave path to the students to face challenges in the modern competitive world.

♦ To conduct job drives for the students to get some placement for their better livelihood.
